TLD

TLD stands for Top Level Domain and is the label at the end of a domain name (it is the .io in youdot.io).

There are two types of TLD:

  • ccTLDs (country code Top Level Domain) which are country-specific TLDs (.fr, .it, .es, etc)
  • gTLDs (generic Top Level Domain) which are meant for generic uses (.com, .org, .biz, etc)
